About

Peter Douglas – Principal

I qualified at Sheffield University and set up Raynesway Dental in 1988.  I am a Specialist Orthodontist recognised by the General Dental Council and am passionate about my work.  I find it extremely rewarding to be able to give people beautiful smiles and help them to feel more confident about themselves.  I have trained extensively and studied around the world with some of the most respected orthodontists and actively seek out ways of continuing my knowledge and skills.

I am married to Barbara and have two grown up children, Jemma and Michael.  I enjoy family life, travelling and outdoor pursuits.

Sonia

Hello my name is Sonia, I am one of the dentists here at Raynesway.  I like to provide a gentle and calming atmosphere, which our more nervous patients find very reassuring.  I like to take the time to develop a treatment plan, with the welcome input of my patients to cater specifically for their individual needs.  I have a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and offer facial rejuvenation treatments such as dermal fillers and treatment for facial lines with Botox.

Andrew – Dentist

I joined Raynesway in 2004 and I have a special interest in endodontics (root canal treatment) and accept referrals for this from other dentists in the area.  I also have many years’ experience in cosmetic and advanced dentistry.

John Serrano-Davey – Dental Surgeon

John qualified as a Dental Surgeon at Bristol University in 1980, and after many years providing general dental services, developed an interest in Orthodontics. Gradually, this interest led him to study and train in the discipline over a five year period, and to more and more of his time being devoted solely to this speciality. He started working as an Orthodontic provider at Raynesway in 1994, and continues to work here on a regular basis, despite having spent six years living with his family in Marbella, Southern Spain, from where he would commute to Derby. This year he decided it was time for a change again and, returning with his family to live once again in the UK, he now does the commute in reverse, flying back to attend to his Spanish patients on a monthly basis.

John has extensive experience of treating younger patients here in the UK, normally under the NHS, but has gained considerable expertise in the treatment of Adult patients thanks to his time spent in Spain, where the consequence of there being no NHS for children results in more patients opting for treatment later in life.

John is particularly interested in Dento-facial Orthopaedics, or to put it simply, “Growing Faces”, in order to achieve not simply straight teeth, but beautifully proportioned faces and profiles as well.

More recently he has become a certified provider of the invisible brace-system, “Invisalign”,

as more and more adults become aware of the benefits this technology has to offer.

John currently lives in Hertfordshire, with his wife and two teenage children. His preferred methods of relaxing from family life range from playing tennis, skiing, cooking and reading philosophy books, to simply walking the dog in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside.

Pam Toor – Dental Hygienist

My name is Pam Toor and I am a dental hygienist. I was drawn into the dental field because oral and dental health has such a profound effect on our quality of life and can affect our general health. I enjoy performing effective dental hygiene therapies and facilitating improved motivation and self-care of patients. I derive great satisfaction from watching their oral health improve and stabilise over the years. Dental Health education is my favourite part of being a dental hygienist. I like the satisfaction of seeing patients improve their mouthcare because I managed to persuade them that it is possible to do, and made them see and feel the difference. I enjoy working at Raynesway as we are a fantastic team and are very close knit. In my spare time I enjoy my family and having long walks, yoga and swimming.
