Dental Implants

Dental implants treatment guide

Dental implants are a realistic, strong and permanent way of replacing one or more missing teeth. They can also provide a firm anchor for bridges and dentures.

Implants are small devices which are, in effect, false tooth roots. Made out of titanium metal, they are placed gently in the jaw bone and left in place until they bond with the bone.

This creates a strong and permanent support for replacement teeth, which are specifically shaped and coloured to provide a perfect match to your other teeth.

Implants can also be used to hold dentures firmly in place, giving a more comfortable fit and making it easier for you to talk and eat.

Implants require specialist skills and knowledge to fit them and to see you through the process. It usually takes about three to six months for them to bond with the bone, and once the process is complete your new tooth or teeth will be as strong as, and look as natural as, your own teeth.
